Choose the hob that suits your needs and your budget
Making your kitchen nice and practical is often done on a budget. But that doesn't mean you have to settle for a poor quality or impractical griddle. Luckily, there are plenty of griddles in different sizes and at different price points to fit your kitchen and your budget.
Start by choosing a size
Stovetop sizes can vary widely, ranging from small four-burner hobs to six-burner hobs. The size of griddle you choose will mainly depend on the size of your kitchen and the amount of food you plan to prepare. A larger griddle can be useful when you prepare a lot of food at once or like to make complex meals that require the use of several dishes at the same time. However, a smaller griddle may be perfect for small families or occasional cooks.
Choose the type of hob that suits you
Once you have decided on the size of hob that will suit your kitchen, you need to choose the type of hob that will best suit your needs. Cooktops are available in a variety of different styles and materials, including gas, electric, induction, and anodized aluminum.
- Gas Hobs: Gas hobs are generally considered the most accurate because they adjust the temperature quickly. Gas hobs are also cheaper to buy than other types of hobs.
- Electric Griddles: Electric griddles offer a variety of temperatures, from low heat for a slow cooker to higher temperatures for grilling. Electric hobs are popular because they don't require a gas connection and are often cheaper to buy.
- Induction hobs Induction hobs offer the best cooking results and high energy efficiency. Induction hobs are generally more expensive to purchase and require special steel cookware.
- Anodized aluminum cooking plates: Anodized aluminum cooking plates are more robust and durable than other materials. They come in a variety of sizes and colors, and are generally affordable and easy to clean.
Think about the interview
Once you have decided on the type of hob that is suitable for your kitchen, you will also need to consider the maintenance of the product. Most hobs have minimal maintenance requirements and are relatively easy to maintain. However, depending on the type of hob you choose, you may need to clean and/or replace some components more frequently than others. For example, gas hobs generally require more frequent cleaning and burner replacement.
